The Ambassadors Program is open to all interested members wishing to connect with new and current members using a more personal approach. As an Ambassador of the Chamber, you represent the Chamber membership, your business, and the community to the Pickens County area. You are often the first community representative a new business owner meets and you become the face of the Chamber.
The Membership Development Committee of the Chamber is proud to present The Pickens County Certified Chamber Members. Implemented in 2015, the Certified Chamber Program was designed to recognize our members who dedicate their time and resources to the betterment of our community, as well as support our Chamber.
The Committee created the program after the Pickens County Chamber of Commerce was designated as one of the first 25 Certified Chambers in the State of Georgia in 2011, with over 150 Chambers in the State. Chambers continue to strive for this State designation, but to date less than 50% in the State of Georgia have received this designation.
Employers in Georgia, certified by the state Board of Workers' Compensation as having a drug-free workplace, are entitled to a 7.5% discount on their workers' compensation premiums. The Drugs Don't Work Program is designed to assist businesses in achieving drug-free certification. As a business member, you will have the opportunity to participate in a statewide drug-free workplace program established by the Georgia Chamber of Commerce.
Leadership Pickens is a Pickens County Chamber of Commerce initiative that builds and strengthens a better community through training its leaders for the challenges of tomorrow. The goal is to develop informed leaders and channel their ideas and experiences toward community resources, issues, and concerns to help direct the future of Pickens County. The goal is achieved by participatory experiences and informal discussions, as well as formal presentations.
Professional Women of Pickens County is a great networking event for business women to enjoy on a monthly basis. This is a group that meets to improve the emotional and professional well being of each individual woman. Luncheons are held on the first Thursday of each month at various Chamber member locations.
Youth Leadership Pickens was established to expose youth of Pickens County to leadership experiences by creating an environment where they can make a positive impact on issues that affect teens.
